Regency Assembly

Enjoy the rapidly-changing state of the London ballroom during the heyday of George IV as first Prince Regent and then monarch during the 1810s and early 1820s with a mix of quadrilles, country dances in a wide variety of formations, Scotch reels, waltz and sauteuse, and perhaps a Grand Polonaise. All called dances are taught on the spot, but a step workshop beforehand is recommended for those truly wishing to dance like ladies and gentlemen of the era. The precise mix can be geared to your dancers' level of experience:

For beginners
Primarily country dances, one or two quadrilles, and a waltz or two. Basic skipping steps encouraged; no prior workshop needed.

For experienced groups
Step workshop strongly recommended! Similar mix, but harder figures and an emphasis on half a dozen simple steps and sequences. Sauteuse waltzes and figured Scotch reels added to the mix.

For experts
Step experience mandatory! Challenging quadrilles and country dances, improvised Scotch reels, and plenty of waltz and sauteuse.
